I spent the last couple of days watching a mini-series on the Sci-Fi Channel entitled, "The Lost Room". I know this started out as a regular series on the same channel about ayear ago or so. I remember when I saw all the commercials promoting it, but it looked kind of boring to me. Just another secret organiztion trying to unravel some mystery that is inter-dimensional in nature. I could not have been more wrong.

I'm guessing they re-packaged the short-lived show into a mini-series. I found every bit of it completely engaging. Whenever you have a show that is a mystery, within a mystery, within a mystery, it is often difficult for the producers to get out of it well. Not only did they resolve all of the plot linesin a masterful and cogent way, but it left me wanting more.

I'm hoping the ratings for this show were solidenough to convince the Sci-Fi channel to revive the show and create additional episodes. Did anyone else watch this show?

Never was a series, but a miniseries starting out. They are intending this as a 'backdoor pilot'--- that is they run the mini-series enough to generate sufficient buzz to justify making it into a regular series.

Not much info as how this is working for them, but there is some interesting speculation in the wikipedia entries.

I loved it--- hope it makes it into regular production.

I thought the same as you--until I watched it. I thoughtthe conceptwas utterly fascinating. I'm planning on buying the DVD set, and I hope they make it into a series.
