View Full Version : Add Text Caption to an Image Online

I had an idea after reading a news article about lolpresidents, a site where people post pictures of presidents and presidential candidates with (sometimes) funny captions. I thought: "Wouldn't it be cool if there was a site where you could upload and add the text to the image right online?"
So this weekend I built it.
www.AddCaption.com
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.addcaption.com/">AddTextto an Image
</A>
You can resize images online (http://www.addcaption.com/) too.
Check it out...

That link goes to a page with a bunch of links and this:
www.addcaption.com
This page is parked free, courtesy of GoDaddy.com
No where on the page can I find an image or a way to add a caption to one. What am I missing?

Yep :) it's up no. Nothing that says what the max size of the uploaded image can be though.
Ok, I uploaded an image and added a caption. On the page that then displayed the caption and the image, the caption text is over the image and it's pretty small. How about making it under the image and larger?
Also, it let's me right-click to save the image. Since I didn't log in there, no one else will have to log in and that means I can download everyone else's images if I want. This could cause you a copyright problem at some point, with user X screaming that other people are downloading their copyrighted images.
How do I see the images that have been uploaded by other people?
Is it possible to add a caption to an image already onsite? Maybe give an image several captions?

You can change the text settings on the form after you upload your image. It's all there:
top, bottom, left, right, center, font, color, size...
You can't see images uploaded by other people. This is just for you to upload an image and add a text caption to it.
You can't add captions to other poeple uploaded images since you can't see them, although I've an idea floating around in my head related to that idea.

Oh. That's too bad. It would be fun to post images and have other people caption them.

Cool idea, Dave, I'll play more with it later.
And, FYI, I'll be tossing a 'Free Article' post on my blog some day soon.
