How about this thread to post our own haiku. Nothing from outsiders. Just SFReader folk.
Here are some from the Basho thread, written by me. How about we limit ourselves to postings of five? Please.
green blades, silver blades
red miasma and green mists
summer harvest
<O /emoticons/tongue.gif ></O /emoticons/tongue.gif >
heads?men and cattle
slaughtered for provisions
autumn?s bright falls
<O /emoticons/tongue.gif ></O /emoticons/tongue.gif >
white cloud, black spider
dew glistens diaphanous
webs winter weaves
<O /emoticons/tongue.gif ></O /emoticons/tongue.gif >
sprouts and newborns
bawling babies, new birthing plants
life springs anew
Exile of my own dull vice. . .

OK, here's one of mine ...
Winter's ghost clings fast
until sun deeply kisses
the night-frosted grass

Cool! Thanks.
Spring spirit rises
shakes dew from dimpled hills
winter bleeds to life
Exile of my own dull vice. . .

Heron shears the mist
a ghost on morning wings
while we walk below.

Here are some horrorku from my chapbook SHOCKS (Sam's Dot Publishing):
murder in Autumn
splattered blood
blends with the foliage
gifts for a cannibal
fresh, tender organs
in colorful bows
seafarer's nightmare
school of mermaids and mermen
tearing at the hull
drunken knife-thrower
spinning assistant
two out of three

I just did this one.
I know the last line lacks a syllable.
It's actually a joke - because someone sent this link to me.

'Mercy'
sword-stroke falls swiftly
end to tyranny and woe
stopping painful life

Thanks, Jason. I liked 'Mercy' too. Substitue shotgun for sword and you got the life of Kurt Cobain.
