Well, I was busy last year when I wrote this. It takes only seconds to submit, and then months waiting for it to go up. I'm glad I didn't miss it.
I just don't understand why they illustrated my story with a picture of a boot.
What do you think jason?

I love this story Mike. And I really enjoyed how you had the hero deal with the situation.

Just took the time to read it. Nice story, good fun. And a neat solution.

I wondered that myself, Mike, and I'm not putting a finger on a reason. Lack of options, perhaps? But it seems like a fairlycommon clip art, so I'm not sure why that would be. I can't imagine they had it made for your story. Oh well, perhaps they wanted to add to the sense of mystique surrounding it. /emoticons/wink.gif

I'm guessing the boot is supposed to show 'really big guy'. To me it looks like the same sort of illustration as I've see in children's stories about giants.

A bridge would have been good. The boots are intended to drive me mad, I'm sure of it. Though it never came up in the story, I never invisioned Mo as wearing boots. Sandals, perhaps, barefoot most likely, boots? Where would you find a pair of boots size 24EEEEE in a magical ancient china? Coolies wear sandals or tote their loads barefoot and wear grass slippers when not working.
Something oriental would have worked-- a bamboo shoot, a bowl of rice. I don't attach much to Alienskin illustrations, they are just clip-art type illos and always silly, but this one does puzzel me. All to the good, they took the story, I got paid, and people are reading it.
