Neil Armstrong is releasing an authorized biography. I haven't read it yet, but I will. Even as a kid, he was a hero to me and has been ever since.
I saw an interview (he seldom does one) on 60 Minutes last night.
Armstrong said he was disappointed that the space program had stalled. He thought we should have continued work on the moon and went on to Mars by now. Ed Bryant asked (light heartedly) if , at age 75, he would consider going to Mars. Armstrong replied, "I doubt I'll get the chance, but I am available." Though the answer was given half jokingly, the gleam in his eyes said he would go in a heartbeat if given the opporunity--that's my kind of hero. I've gotta read this book.
