Seeing as how I'm blathering about ebooks

Figured out tonight how to get readable PDFs onto my Kindle.

Kindle (in my case, Kindle 2) got an update to version 2.3 that includes native support for PDF reading. However, it is a very limited feature. The PDFs come over with very small font and the font adjustment does not work (grayed out.) You can landscape the device, but that doesn't gain you much.

Some Googling revealed a quick fix. MobiPocket Creator (mobipocket.com) It's free. Download the full publisher edition and in a few minutes, you can import, convert and load prc files to the Kindle.

I tried it with some documents I have - text and pictures came through great!

Now I can grab some small press PDFs, too, and read them comfortably on the Kindle!
