I confess to a rather jaded opinion of human nature, not of the individual, but to the species as a whole. I pretty much think we’re on a path to our own decline, and expect a future where humans exist in much, much fewer numbers than we do today.
This story reflects my somewhat dim view of our nature. It’s one of my very early stories, and isn’t very good. It’s actually bad. Quite bad. But here you go, nonetheless.

This story went through a lot of permutations and submissions before it finally arrived in it?s final form. It had numerous near misses before finally being accepted into the Nueromancer Unbound e-anthology some years back.
