Thread: Flashing Swords issue 12

    Default Flashing Swords issue 12

The November issue will be out around the middle of the month. We have made some significant changes and are in the process of making more changes. Issue #12 will feature a cover by newcomer Kirsten Maloney, whose work for Daverana Enterprises has been extraordinary.

It takes time to get the hang of formatting a magazine as opposed to books, but I think I am finally getting it all straight.

I really like this cover. Powerful, dark, and suggestive of some good old violence and mayhem. Nice choice.

Beautiful cover, Janrae! I'd plunk down the issue price just for that cover .

Great cover. I did mention I would very much like for her to do the cover of Hardboiled Horrors, didn't I? ;{)

We should still be on schedule. I'll check with Janrae to make sure. I suggested we use Jordan's avatar with the beer swilling ferret for our cover even though I like what we have now. I have to qualify that statement because I don't want the boss putting me back in the emergency room. It's okay -- I've still got all of my limbs... they're just strangely double jointed now.

    Hey there,

I also was wondering when issue 12 would come out. Crystal bought a story from me earlier this year and told me it would be in the November issue. It was my second sale and the first to actually see print, so needless to say I am excited to see the TOC and find out if the story actually made it in.

    How goes the fight?

I am going to put up a page on my wordpress blog that will list all the projects I have in the queue, including Flashing Swords, so that people can tell where I am with matters (each and all of them) and update it on Mondays.

I just finished getting our third book for Daverana Enterprises formatted, uploaded, and a proof copy ordered. We are getting closer to launch. I have gotten half way through the revisions an editor wants on a book from me, and I have been dealing with various emergencies that my writers have had (among other things). Flashing Swords issue #12 is the project for this coming Monday. Hopefully I will have it ready to go by Friday.

I will post it shortly. I have found that we don't have enough interior art for it and am currently looking for more.

Sorry guys, but the issue is delayed till later in the month.

This is entirely on me. I'm new Layout Editor, and there are internal discussions that I'm not at liberty to discuss. However, I should have a nice ToC for you guys to see in a day or two, once I've got a few things down.

I just joined the crew yesterday, so feel free to address any concerns to me about why it is taking so long, and what I can divulge, I will.
