Yes, I've noticed; however, they don't seem to be answering direct emails or private messages.

emailed Janrae directly two weeks ago via an email her and I have conversed through before; PM'ed her via this forum early last week; direct emailed Tim end of last week. I haven't joined their forums - combination of mild form of protest and simply no time for yet another forum, an individual entity one at that.

    Thanks for the update.

Arrggh! I tried to register with the forum, but the confirmation email requests a 'parent permission slip' with no contact information supplied. Generally, as I understand it, you aren't suppose to reply to an auto-generated email?

Thanx for the heads up. I've had two submissions in since last year. Haven't heard a word one way or the other. Seeing as how one guy got 4 acceptances, doesn't sound too promising for me.

Tim (50footant) has been responding to my emails, including clearing my registration for the forums (yeah, I got that COPPA thing, and I'm damned if I'm getting one of my parents to sign on my behalf - I'm 48!!).

It certainly looks as if Tim is getting things moving again, which is excellent news.

Er, what if (say for example) one sent in a story submission six months ago, then sent in three query emails and heard nothing... then assumed that the story had either been dismissed or rejected and submitted it to another market which accepted it?

What would be the proper etiquette in that situation?

I'd say send something else if you feel like it. I think they're getting their ducks in a row, but use your own discretion.

Well, che2000, I'd say the nice thing to do would be to email that information to 50 foot ant so that he knows where you're coming from when you tell him to pull the story out of the slush (if in fact it hasn't gone astray). Since he's trying to whip Flashing Swords into shape, that would at least let him know that he need not devote time to that particular tale since it isn't on the table any longer.

Kudos to Tim for being proactive. I made a sale before the changeover, but didn't bother following it up, even though I never heard a peep from the new administration. I thought I'd wait for the new issue to appear to see if my tale was included. It wasn't. So I sent Tim an e-mail a few days back regarding the sale. He answered a couple of days ago. Apparently my story got lost during the transfer process, so I had to resend it. It's nice to see someone there take the bull by the horns.

Now, if we could only get them to start posting over here again. Like Jason, I'm not too keen on joining yet another forum, especially as this one serves just fine.

If you have difficulties registering, just drop me an email. THere was a sustained spambot attack that required updating security measures. AT this time you should just need to sign up and respond to an email.
