FantasyCon 2009
Just got back from FantasyCon in Nottingham--and it was absolutely brilliant!
1st ever Con, and I attended Morrigan Books' launch and signing for both Grants Pass and Dead Souls. Got to sit next to Ramsey Campbell (also in Dead Souls), and see how a professional does it! [MUST PRACTICE FAR BETTER SIGNATURE, in the hopes I get to do it again...]
Great (read cheap) drink and even better people. I had a blast.
Also, thanks for the pre-con advice, Nicholas: tried very hard not to be a fan geek and think I pulled it off [img]/emoticons/turn.gif[/img]
Won't bore you with the whole list of BFS award winners. My personal favourites were Tim Lebbon for best novella [The Reach of Children]; the lovely Vinnie Chong for best artist, and Joseph D'Lacey for best newcomer [Meat]
