First up is a fun little space opera by T. M. Hunter featuring the (reformed?) Space Pirate Aston West titled, 'Redemption.' Todd has been published at Ray Gun Revival and just released his first Aston West novel, Heroes Die Young (which I haven't read, but have heard some nice buzz about it). You can read more about his projects at AstonWest.com. Oh, and be sure to visit ResAliens and enjoy the story!

The whole TOC for November is now up!
Yes, I know. I’m writing this mid-November but I figure you were too busy earlier this month to read all the features of Issue 3.5. So during Thanksgiving break, be sure to check out the two interviews and three short fictions by returning author R. L. Copple, and two new-to-this-zine writers Ray Foy and T. M. Hunter. What is it with all the initials anyway?
Opening and closing the issue, we offer a bit off space opera adventure. At the top of the ToC is “Life Intruders,” a fun piece featuring The Voyages of Neptune 2, the first of what I hope will be a series of short space fiction from R. L. Copple. This story’s plot? The diverse and quirky crew of Neptune 2 has to reach Io with the cure for deadly virus – will they get there in time?! Don’t you love it? Archetypal space opera. For those who like to read between the lines, there is a subtle subtext to the story as well.
As there is in “Redemption” by T. M. Hunter. This story features the “reformed” space pirate, Aston West, who also has his own novel! (BTW, did you notice the banner ads this month showcasing these two authors' new books? Check them out!) In this adventure West is hauling questionably secret goods across the galaxy when those…goods…make themselves known! What’s a space pirate to do but run to another shady character for help! Fun stuff.
The third (almost flash) fiction is a ghost story by Ray Foy titled 'Supernal.' The author says he was inspired to write the story after hearing about an old woman who was supposedly haunting a patient room at the local hospital where he worked. It’s a nice little speculative piece. Hope you enjoy it.
Finally, two – read ‘em (really, please, click on them and read them), two – interviews round out this month’s issue. The artwork of Bill Corbett (from the UK) and Garrett DeChellis (from the US) is really fantastic (pun intended). These two artists were so gracious to allow me to showcase their work. Thanks to both of them.
And thanks to you (this Thanksgiving Season) for reading!
