    Default Steampunk novels

As there seems to be a fair bit of interest in Steampunk here on SFR at the moment I'd thought I'd take this oppotunity to post up some books that are generally considered to be in the realm of the Steampunk genre.

Morlock Night by KW Jetar. The chap who coined the name Steampunk.

The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers.

The Peshwar Lancers by SM Stirling.

The Pax Britainnia series by Jonathon Green

Doubtless a search on Amazon will produce listings by fans of other books considered to be of interest in the genre.

If you could only pick one, which one would you pick?

ah...The Peshwar Lancers sets the tone for a lot of other Steampunk novels.

The Pax Britannica books are just pure pulpy action/adventure fun. Great reading on a cold and wet Sunday when curling up in front of the fire is much better than going outside.
