Default The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman

This is not a novel, it's a running comic book series and it's head and shoulders above just about anything I've read when it comes to zombies and out and out post-apocalyptic drama. I don't recommend trying to get the back issues but the trade paperbacks and compendiums are readily available. The story is still ongoing but it appears to be moving toward a resolution. Anyway, I wait three months at a clip to get the new trade and then I read it in an hour.

    They're so good!

The Walking Dead is easily my favourite ongoing read. I have high hopes for the TV series as well!

I have some information about this that the Walking Dead is an American monthly black and white comic published by Image Comics beginning in 2003.
