    Prologue
Stories like anything have a beginning and an end, and this is no different. In a time before man, before Dinosaurs, the planet we know as earth had another master. Cromanuts, a race of beings with a power that controlled most of the galaxy. They possessed technology that made them both loved and hated by many. This hatred started a war between the Cromanuts and

another powerful race known as the Sumerians. For a century, these races faced one another in a

conflict that caused the deaths of countless numbers on both sides. The Sumerians were a powerful race having strong intelligence and were powerful warriors. Sumerian technology made the war last as many years as it had. It had looked for a long time like that the Sumerians might win, but the king and ruler of the Cromanuts ended each conflict destroying the forces which endangered his army. Cromanuts have similar traits as Sumerians, but not the same as the King, a ruler named Gregorias who ruled the kingdom of the Cromanuts for many years. Gregorias had abilities that no one else seemed to have within them. Gregorias would have the power to escape gravities hold and fly over the enemies on the ground. Another ability he seemed to have was a strength that toppled anyone he faced. He also had a power that made him invincible and unbeatable. Gregorias defeated nearly everything his rival the evil lord of the Sumerians threw at him. His name, Bochicco a being whose ruthlessness was unmatched by any being. Bochicco tried everything he could to defeat his rival but nothing seemed to work. Sensing his defeat, he set in course a plan to try and end Gregorias. So that nothing could stop him he had a lab created on the home planet of the Cromanuts. His plan was to use the DNA of Gregorias and a secret weapon to create soldier’s powerful enough to eliminate Gregorias. Before he could put his plan into action, Gregorias attacked taking control of Sumeria. Bochicco saw his chances of winning the war fading so he tried to activate his weapon by combining the clones of his greatest warriors. Before he could complete his task, the planet was hit with a massive asteroid . Most of the planet was in ruin, those that lived fled as the massive volcanoes erupted destroying most of the cities and structures. Gregorias led his people away from their home as the first ice age began. In the lab, the destruction caused by the hit created an accident freezing Bochicco in a tank with his cloned warriors. Time passed, and the combination ice and fire from the volcanoes destroyed all evidence of Cromanuts. Everything was gone but the lab for a millennia the planet changed but the danger remained. Until the day when accidentally a young boy would find it changing the fate of everyone.

    Chapter 1
Time passed and new rulers of the land became in control of the planet. The world of

Cromanuts came and went. A race similar but very different had control of the planet now

known as Earth. Humans were vastly different having far less technological abilities than the

Cromanuts. Life on the world had changed, but some things had remained the same, the weapon

that threatened to change the fate of millions remained unfound, until today. The story unfolds in the suburbs of Philadelphia in a little neighborhood called Brookhaven. Unknowingly, the citizens of the neighborhood lived right around the area where the lab was buried. A wooded area was directly on top of the lab covering any chance people had of finding it. The dangers the weapon presented were never more present than today when by chance, it would be found by the most unlikely person imaginable. Deep within in the woods surrounded by a thick amount of trees three friends ride to their destinies. The leader, Tim Davis followed close by Mark Markinson, and trailing behind Pete Farrell. All in their twenties, the boys ride as fast as they can deeper into the unknown.

“Hey Pete, come on man try and keep up.” said Tim.

Tim Davis, a tall young man with charm and humor leads the group of bikers. Athletic and strong with short brown hair Tim is someone that commands attention from everyone around him; he is 21 years old.

“Hey guys after we’re done here lets head over to Dave’s house, the field hockey team

is practicing across the street again.” said Mark.

Mark Markinson a young man with many secrets and even more jokes. A little shorter

than Tim, Mark is stronger with thick brown hair and thick fists. Smart and ingenious with

computers, Mark aids his friends looking out for them to a point.

“Pete come on the branches won’t hurt you.” said Mark laughing.

“You try riding an 18 speed with a bad back, I feel like I am 50.” said Pete.

Tim and Mark laugh as they fall behind while Pete tries to catch up with his friends. The

comic relief of the group who looks for a laugh more than anything else. An entertainer who

mostly looks for fun than a serious days work. A heavy set guy with uncombed short dark brown hair, Pete tries to have fun in life; he is 21. The three riders go deeper into the woods nicknamed “Loser’s Woods”. Nicknamed for this because of the riders who have passed within the woods before. Many accidents have been caused because the thick branches causing barely any visibility. Riders use this path because of the clearing at the end. The clearing had a massive lake and a small waterfall that attracted many to its beauty. Only a few have made the trip to this date.

“How far do you think we are?” asked Pete breathing heavily.

“Not sure, I asked Matt Hamilton about it, and he could only estimate.” said Tim

“Do any of us actually believe Matt made the trip, he’s a worse liar than Pete.” said Mark

“Tells good stories though.” said Tim laughing.

Mark and Pete laugh and nod in agreement. As they pass a strong area of branches, the lab underneath flickers on after hearing them riding. The power surge causes a small quake

within in the woods. The tremble heads towards the riders knocking branches down. Tim and

Mark stop in time to be safe, but the tremble causes Pete to fly off his bike into some nearby

bushes. Tim and Mark rush over to check Pete out.

As Pete was brushing off some branches, Tim asked, “Pete you ok? That looked nasty!”

Slowly, Pete got up and brushed off dirt and some additional branches from his chest.

“I’m fine, but did you two feel that rumble?” asked Pete.

Mark and Tim started to chuckle looking at one another then start to crack up laughing.

“Yea, dude, but it was nothing,” said Tim laughing.

“How did you fall off? I mean, it couldn’t have been that bad,” said Mark.

“Not sure. I must have lost my balance,” Pete offered.

Pete walked over to his bike which, was laying in the bushes after he was thrown off.

When he picked it up, the seat was missing.

“Dang! Just spent forty dollars repairing this hunk of junk,” Pete griped.

“Look at it this way, dude, your legs will be a heck of a lot stronger than ever,!” said Tim laughing.

Tim and Mark pulled the bikes alongside Pete’s.

“Do you want to try to keep going with us?” asked Tim.

“No, bike’s busted, you guys might as well keep going. No sense in you guys not making the trip. We came all this way at least one of us should try and see what it looks like,” Pete replied.

“We could walk the rest of the way,” said Mark and then started laughing, “Might be safer.”

With a smirk, Pete commented, “Funny! No, it will take twice as long, and we have school tomorrow so I’ll head back. You guys keep going and let me know what it looks like,” said Pete.

“You sure dude? I mean we shouldn’t leave you stranded like this,” said Tim.

“I’m sure! Don’t worry, just make sure you remember how to get there cause I want to

try again another time,” said Pete.

“All right dude, have fun walking home,” laughed Mark.

Tim started to laugh too as they rode away on their bikes. Pete slowly headed in the direction of home. It had been a long day starting around 10:00 am. They planned on how deep the woods encircled the neighborhood. The sun was bright enough to penetrate the thick covering of trees, on this a balmy May day that almost felt like summer, but it was still spring. Before toppling from his bike, the boys had ridden two hours into the trip. Now Pete started walking to try to find the path he traveled originally. An hour passed, and the forest seemed to grow thicker. Reaching a hill with his bike, Pete slowly steps up the hill getting tired. Not recognizing a thing Pete smacked his head.

“I knew it! I am lost. I can’t believe it.” Pete scolded himself. “Gotta be glad I didn’t bring the guys with me.”

Pete continued on the path. The light was less bright, and the cover of the trees made it darker. Another hour flew by, and Pete thought if he ran he could make up for lost time. In his haste, tree limbs smacked him in the face and arms. Emerging from the woods, Pete spotted a sign on a board : Now entering Losers’ Woods.

“Finally! Probably about another hour to get home. The guys probably made it there

    and back again.”

Pete started to walk forward when he heard a loud menacing bark. Nervously, he turned around. To his surprise, he was facing a very angry and familiar pit bull.

“Mrs. Johnson’s dog must have gotten loose again.” He assessed aloud to no one in particular.

Pete inches to walk away from the dog when it lunges at him at full speed. Moving as fast as he can, he dodges it and runs off in a different direction. With the dog close by, Pete runs

deeper and deeper in the wrong direction. He stops at an old tree and climbs it with the dog right

at his feet. Seeing an old brick, he throws it at the dog scaring it away.

“Jesus, I better talk to Mrs. Johnson again about that dog before someone gets hurt.”

In the corner of his eyes, he spots a large rod next to a tree. Usually this would be nothing, but it was golden and bright, which caught his eye. Looking around to see if it was clear, Pete jumps off the tree. He looks around and walks over to the rod, he bends over, and feels it. On the side, there appears to be a switch very small. As Pete is about to flick the switch, Pete feels hot breath on his neck. Slowly turning, Pete sees the dog with drool coming from the mouth. The dog lunges for Pete again knocking him back into the rod. Pete activates the switch, which open a huge hole in the ground taking Pete underground. The dog continues to bark for ten minutes then leaves. Twenty minutes later, Pete slowly wakes up in the dark. Feeling pain in his ankle, Pete tries to pull himself to his feet. Nervously, Pete starts to walk around the darkness when he walks into something.

“Can somebody help me!” Pete yelled.

There is only an echo around the room. Somehow Pete finds some steps, which

lead into another dark room. As Pete enters the room, a blinding light illuminates the room.

Momentarily blinded, Pete opens his eyes to see an extraordinary room. In the middle of the room is a console that looked more sophisticated than any computer he had ever seen. On the sides, smaller versions with a small console in the middle of the room. Each console is beeping with strange writings appearing on the screen. Pete slowly touches the smaller console in the middle of the room and a holographic image of the planet appears. Backing up, Pete stumbles into a door behind him. Turning around, Pete sees a small ball through a window on the door. Before he tries to enter, a flash lights in the middle of the room, and then a small figure appears. A figure looking like a man in his early thirty’s with black hair and dark skin. Pete turns around and stands against the wall scared and a little shaken.

    “Hecko,” said Pete nervously.

“Kraknor, Sie, Kaylee Nuber,” said the figure.

Pete slowly approaches the figure to examine it more closely. Before he gets too close, the figure disappears just as fast as he came. A little freaked, Pete turns to walk away when the figure reappears in front of the steps. The same figure appears but looks more human.

“Sorry about that, the computer hasn’t been active in long time.” said the figure.

The voice seems to sound a little like Pete’s but has the same tone as before. Nervously,

Pete walks toward the figure and slowly puts his hand through his stomach.

“Hey, hey, you wouldn’t like it if someone did that to you, so knock it off,.” said the

    figure.

“Who are you, and what is this place?” asked Pete.

“You’re full of questions, especially when you’re in my lab. So I should ask who you are

and what are you doing here,” asked the figure.

“Um, my name is Pete Farrell, sorry about being here where ever here is I mean, where

the heck are we?” asked Pete.

“You don’t know, I would have thought my creator would have told many about this

place by now,” said the figure.

“Creator, what are you talking about, what is this place?” asked Pete.

“Cromanuts really never knew about this place. Gregorias must be slipping in his old

    Age,” said the figure.

“Crom a wha? Look, you’re not making any sense,” said Pete.

“What you don’t know what a Cromanutten is, what about a Sumerian?” asked the figure.

    “Nope.”

“Both, that shouldn’t be, hold on for one second.” said the figure.

He closed his eyes and seems to be scanning for something. The main console in the middle of the room starts running through files. At first, the files are in an alien language, but soon turn into English on the screen. Finally, the figure opens his eyes at Pete with a distressed look on his face.

“2007, it’s the year 2007, oh my stars! What happened to me? What happened to this

world?” asks the figure to himself.

He turns and walks toward the console with his head down.

“I don’t understand. How long ago this place was built?” asked Pete.

“Oh well, I would have to say, from star charts and level gas in the air. I would say about

in your time scale, 50 trillion years ago,” says the figure.

Nothing is said for a moment, but Pete starts to laugh hysterically after hearing the number.

“50 trillion years ago really, wow you look really good for age. Dude, I’ll see you later

and have a good life,” says Pete.

He starts to walk toward the exit when the figure again appears in front of him.

“You don’t believe me. I can understand that people of this planet were never that bright,” said the figure.

“What, look if you’re really from some civilization 50 trillion years ago, then why do you

    speak perfect English?” asked Pete.

“Oh well, that’s easy,” replied the figure.

    “Really,” said Pete.

“Yea, you taught the computer it.”

“What are you talking about?” asked Pete.

“When you first showed up in the lab, you yelled out can somebody help me. Computer

used that to construct how the rest of the language was spoken.”

“And that stuff you first said when you showed up,” said Pete now very curious.

“In a word, Hecko,” says the figure.

“If you’re telling the truth, then prove it, show me what the world looked like back then,”

    said Pete.

The figure nods his head, and the console that had the hologram of earth appears

different. More land mass is connected, and the cities seem more connected and much more

    elaborate.

“Oh my God?” asked Pete astonished.

“Yea, it was a beautiful planet, technologically, it was a wonder. Now that I am getting

a look at your people’s abilities and technologies, the people that ran this world were almost

godlike. It was a very interesting time to live,” said the figure.

“You’re not a real person, but you talk as if you were alive back then,. “said Pete.

“The man who created me, I know what it was like back then. It’s

kind of odd knowing things have changed so much,” said the figure smiling.

“I just realized, (Pete says turning his head away from the console), I never got your

    name.”

“I don’t exactly have one, more of a model name Sumerian technological evolution video

    equipment numeric device.”

    “S. T. E. V. E your name is Steve,” said Pete a little amused.

“Steve I like it, thank you, Steve,” said Steve happy with himself.

“No problem,( Pete starts to walk around looking in the different rooms) so Steve, if your

civilization was over 50 trillion years ago, why is this place still intact?” asks Pete.

“This place was designed by a race called Sumerians, it was made to survive many attacks from many different weapons,” said Steve.

“So this world back then belonged to the Sumerians?” asked Pete.

“Well no, it’s a long story, this lab was built by the Sumerians, but the planet belonged to

the Cromanuts. The lab was meant for (before he could answer Steve’s eyes blink) hmm …

that’s strange, can’t seem to find the true purpose. So many years of being inactive some data

must have been erased. It shouldn’t be a problem this planet’s technology still can’t do much

    to this lab,” says Steve.

“What are you talking about, we have powerful weapons on this planet. Our most

powerful weapon could destroy this planet,” says Pete trying to sound impressive.

“Yes your nuclear missile, mildly impressive. However at the height of both civilizations, both Sumerian and Cromanutten weapons could wipe out solar systems,” says Steve.

“Wow,” said Pete trailing off seeing the room with the gray ball again.

The room itself is completely white having no consoles or computers. The gray ball is

about the size of a basketball and sits on a pedestal. Alongside the ball on the pedestal is a small

    controller connected to the ball.

    “Cool isn’t it,” said Steve.

    “Yea, what is it?”

“Not sure, I’m trying to get files on it, but they seem to be protected,” said Steve.

“What’s that mean?” asked Pete curiously.

“It means whoever built this is only allowing me to open the door to the room,.” said

    Steve.

“Open it, let’s check it out,” said Pete now very curious.

“I don’t know Pete, if I can’t open the files then maybe it’s dangerous,” said Steve.

“Come on, what’s the harm.” says Pete.

Steve reluctantly agrees and nods his head opening the door. Pete walks in examining the

room from side to side. Surprisingly, there really is nothing else in the room. The walls are

smooth and feel almost leather textured. He slowly walks over to the pedestal and examine the

    ball.

“Sorry, I can’t come in there’s no access point for me. Whoever made this really didn’t

want me in this room,” said Steve from outside the room.

“What do you think this thing is?” asked Pete.

Referring to the gray ball on the pedestal, “You got me, it looks like just a big ball, like I said, files on this are off limits. When this was built, I guess keeping secrets was important,” said Steve.

“Yea, and I mean you don’t build something this small and leave it alone in a room unless it’s important,” says Pete very curiously.

While Pete and Steve are talking, a room behind them starts to blink with lights on top of

the door. Inside five figures are frozen in capsules along the wall, a sixth figure frozen at the end

of the room. The figure is in a pose like he was frozen accidentally. The figure is tall in his forties with long black hair and muscular shoulders. The figure seems to look like he was trying to open a sixth capsule. In the white room, Pete feels around the gray ball some more.

“Maybe we should leave, I mean this could be really dangerous,” said Steve.

“Yea, (Pete says while resting his hand on the ball) you’re probably right,” said Pete.

As Pete walks away, he trips on some lose shoelaces. Pete’s hand falls on top the controller activating something. The ball starts to hiss, hearing this, Pete gets up and walks toward the door. As he is about to leave, the ball opens into a three figure object. Pete watches as a scanner comes out from the ball scanning him then a medical scan of Pete’s body appears alongside the ball. A humming sound starts to activate first low then really loud.

“Steve what’s happening?” asked Pete nervously.

“Don’t wait around to find out, run like heck,” said Steve panicking.

A back part pulls out from the three figure object. An energy starts to build up in the

    middle of the ball.

“Crap!” yells Pete surprised and scared.

As Pete turns to get away, the energy shoots out hitting him in the back. Feeling a great

Pain, Pete screams out in agony as the energy ripples through every part of Pete’s body. Pete’s

body rises in the air as the scan the ball took of Pete starts to change shape around his legs and

arms. The scan shows Pete’s cells change and grow thicker and multiply.

“Pete hang on” yelled Steve frantically.

Pete barely hears him as the energy has him in a lot of pain. Steve closes his eyes and on

the console, the data which was protected is being accessed by Steve. He does everything he can

to try and break through the seal. Finally after many attempts, the fire wall breaks and Steve gains access. Before he has a chance to turn off the ball, the energy shuts off. Pete ,unconsciously, falls down to the ground as the energy returns to the ball. Steve watches as the ball returns to the pedestal and in horror hears a voice from the machine say.

“DNA reboot complete, new system complete.”
