Thread: Reintroduce yourself!

  1. Default Reintroduce yourself!

A lot of things have changed here. New forum software, people coming and going. All the old Intro posts are buried under tons of newer posts. So,

How about everyone post a "hi, this is who I am" in this thread.

Then once you've posted, if you have stories or books in print and you haven't done so, please go to the On Writing forum and add yourself to the published authors thread (then keep it updated)

I'll start. I'm Crystalwizard. I write mostly sci-fi/fantasy mixed genre, but have been known to write other things. I also publish Abandoned Towers Magazine and various books under the nine different imprints which shelter under the Cybewizard Productions umbrella.

  3. Default Me JT

John Thiel, editor of the netzine SURPRISING STORIES. I also maintain my own webpage, called HYPERSPACE.

Janrae Frank. I'm an old-timer still struggling. My first sale was to Amazons! edited by Jessica Amanda Salmonson (1979 DAW). Currently I run Daverana Enterprises.

A reintroduction thread isn't a bad idea. I tend to come and go at random, but I'm still around and swing through when I have the chance.

Tommy B. Smith. I primarily write horror and fantasy, and at times a blend of the two.

This year I'm editing the Dark Sorcery Special Issue from Morpheus Tales.

That about covers the basics on my end...

Didn't I just do this, when I returned to the forum? Or, maybe not.

Oh well, I'll do it again if I did it already. Or I'll do it now, for the first time, if I didn't.

    Confused yet?

Anyway, I'm Richard H. Fay. I write speculative poetry, a little bit of mainstream verse, and some non-fiction. I even wrote a non-fiction piece about speculative poetry: "Speculative Poetry: Past, Present, and Future". Some day I may even become a "real" writer and write some prose fiction, but my story ideas always seem get shoved on the back burner. I did have a lone drabble published back in 2008.

I also draw. Actually, drawing keeps taking up more and more of my time. Sometimes I draw historical subjects. Sometimes I draw folkloric subjects. Sometimes I draw sci-fi, fantasy, and horror subjects. Merchandise featuring my art (of various subjects) can be found in the Abandoned Towers Zazzle Store.

My illustrations, poems, and articles have appeared here-and-there. I've had a few works of poetry, art, and non-fiction published, some on-line, some in-print.

Oh, I should probably also mention that I'm the art blogger at Niteblade. I try to feature the works of aspiring fantasy and/or horror artists on a fairly regular basis.

I'm a monster nut, a history buff, a folklore freak, a lover of old and obscure words, and an unabashed Tolkien fan. All these things often show in my work. I don't know if it's always a good thing, but that's the way I am.

Hi there everyone. I'm new to the forums here. I'm a huge fan of almost anything in SciFi or Fantasy. I also just started a blog, which I'd love for people to come and check it out, and let me know how it is. I'm excited to join everyone here, and share my love for the genre. If you want to check out my blog you can check it out here.

Hello! Don't know if I need to reintroduce myself but as you can see from the book covers I am P.I. Barrington and author of the Future Imperfect trilogy! I mostly write futuristic crime thrillers. Future Imperfect Book Three: Final Deceit is out now and ends (for now?) the story line. Future Imperfect is set in 2032 Las Vegas where the environment and economy have disintegrated and the city does what it has to just to keep functioning. Add a murderous quasi-religious cult and LVPD Homicide Detective Payce Halligan and her new partner, British ex-DCI Gavin McAllister struggle to survive and come to terms with their torturous pasts. I also kick off the first Borealis Space Anthology with my novella, Inamorata Crossing. Ex-journalist and entertainment industry in radio and music, so obviously I live in Los Angeles, lol! I'd love to have you check out my website at: http://thewordmistresses.com and drop a comment in the slot! I'll post latest reviews; there are some older reviews on the website. I'll be doing giveaways of the trilogy in ebook format in the coming days and weeks!! Stay tuned for further transmissions!

Lyle Burwell. I've been a freelancer since the 70s and passed the million-words-in-print milestone in 2010. I've just released a horror e-novel on Amazon that is getting some good reviews. Here's the link to 2012: The Anti-Soul on Amazon.

Which in the Australian daily trivia newspaper commonly reffered to as the Daily Telegraph...in recent divorce cases 15% of women have listed WOW as the reason for their marriage termination.

Call of Duty was also in the list.

I'm guessing that unlike my Linda those women don't play video games themselves. How unfortunate for them. Linda is particulalrly fond of Delta Force (the first 4) and Serious Sam and all the Tomb Raider games on PC and PS.

Yeah, the missus is the one who pushes me into each new expansion. So long as I don't form any very special "adventuring parties" with other females, I'm golden.

    I'm Dave

I started SFReader in 2001, mainly as a project to teach myself web programming. It's been fun seeing the site grow, although recently it's been contracting. Hopefully there are still some boom times ahead.

I was a winner in the Writers of the Future contest, volum 13 (I think), way back in 1997. I also won the Chiaroscuro Short Story Contest in 1999. I've had a few semi-pro and small press pubs as well, and had stories in a couple of anthos, but I haven't written anything new in about a decade. My motivation just sort of petered out....

If you have feedback for SFReader, or any ideas for features, I'm the person to tell.

Welcome to the forum, Jessica. You'll find updates on what many of the writers here are doing, and from time to time, though not as frequently as in the past, you'll find interesting discussions on various topics related to science fiction and fantasy.

I'm Frank, wannabe writer and general purveyor of obnoxosities. I tend to ramble like the worst know-it-alls you've encountered, online or in person. I used to hang out in this forum a lot. Now I just have occasional posting fits.

I actually met a good friend through this forum by the name of Armand Rosamilia. Back when Armand and I first joined SFReader (at about the same time, by chance) we both happened to live in the Daytona Beach area. Soon after I edited his horror novella Death Metal, which became his first fiction sale.

    I'm Firle.

German writer, dreamer and healer. I have a couple of short stories published, and a German novel is in the pipeline.

Horses are my favorite pasttime, they have precedence over writing at the moment, even though I don't have one of my own. Trying to work up my energy to actually write in NaNo again, to gain the skeleton of a new novel.

Hope more people will come back.
    Call me Firle.
