Thread: Tales of the Ancient Empire!

  1. Default Tales of the Ancient Empire!

Howdy folks! Everybody's buddy Oddcube here with some exciting news!

Back in the early 80's, during the rush of (really bad) sword-n-sorcery movies, a good one slipped through! That one was called "The Sword and the Sorcerer", starring Lee Horsley, and Richard Moll, and I can't remember who else! Well, during the end credits they promised a sequel called "Tales of the Ancient Empire" and I've just learned that this movie is being made even as I type! I'm excited!

According to some online articles linked to the Sword & the Sorcerer wikipedia page, AND the IMDB page for Tales, the movie stars Lee Horsley, Kevin Sorbo, and Val Kilmer!

Here's a clip from the official page: http://www.talesofanancientempire.com/
And here's the director's page, with more pics: http://www.albertpyunmovies.com/tale...ncient-empire/

I'm excited (in a guarded and trepidatious sort of way)!

Well, at the least, this is a startling turn of events. I'll have to dig up "The Sword & the Sorcerer" itself and have a view before I can get excited about a sequel, though!

Judging by the trailer they'd better give up now.
Anything Kevin Sorbo is in is doomed to failure and Crom knows how old Lee Horsley is.
Once again I can't understand how people can invest money in what is obviously going to be a massive failure.
Maybe it's just a tax write off?

I reckon the original Sword and Sorcerer was the best sword and sorcery movie ever made.
    Which isn't saying much.

Still no sign of the Solomon Kane movie Down Under...did it actually get released in the USA or the UK?

Yep, Solomon Kane got a UK release, but - as usual - came nowhere near my local multiplex, which left me grindin' me teeth somewhat. I guess I gotta wait for the DVD!

Poor Kevin Sorbo... God knows I did my best to like Kull The Conqueror, but it seems that even I have my limitations.
