Default The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, by N.K. Jemisin

Refreshing and riveting. Totally unlike other stuff out there.

It's on my list. I kinda know the author. Been hearing good things about it.

Sounds interesting indeed. It being the first part of a trilogy makes me wary, though. I already have too much on my reading list.

Finally read it. A very imaginative fantasy novel. I can see why it is creating such a buzz. Alas, I will not be following the trilogy. The first book completes the story cycle so there should be no fear of getting to the end and seeing a big to be continued sign. I found no incentive to continue the trilogy. Not enough action for me and too much character detail, which I find is a trademark of all well acclaimed books. Personally I don't want to know that much about the characters. All in all it is a fresh take and worth the read.

Well, that's good to hear. With that worry out of the way, I think I may have to pick this one up.
