I was saddened to hear that Kage Baker died of cancer back in January. Those of you who don't know her, may like to try her awesome series The Company Novels - they truly are some of the best science fiction I've read - her book 'Mendoza in Hollywood' is currently my all time favourite book.

She was a clever, multi-layered writer whose wit, humour and passion shone through her writing and I feel that her work has been very much overlooked... The spec fic community has lost a great talent.
