Watched this for the first time a couple days ago. Far from the worst Sci-Fi movie I've ever seen, but the whole plan to defeat the aliens rather ruins it. They just waltz into the core of the mother ship with a stolen craft and hack the whole fleet?

So what, the aliens don't keep records of their ships by serial number, or even require them to "radio in" for permission to land? Not to mention that the ship they use is 50 years old, making the infiltration not unlike an enemy spy flying into a US Air Force base on a biplane.

And then the hacking. These aliens are incredibly advanced technologically, but have absolutely no protection against hackers, even ones as relatively primitive as 20th Century Earthlings?

Forgive the rant, but this is one of my biggest pet peeves: Villains that are supremely powerful and intelligent right up until the climax, at which point they abruptly turn into a bunch of inept primitives. If you can't figure out a real way to defeat the villains, then don't bother writing the story!
