Default Please help me remember the name of this book!

I read a sf book a few years back, and I cannot recall the name or author. It was about a man that came up with ideas for new technology, and then gave them away for free. He had a cat AI, and the earth eventually developed larger AIs that started matrioshka arrays around the sun. At that point, information became the new currency, and was referred to as Economy 2.0. Humankind became kind of second class citizens at that point. If anyone knows of the book in question, please help me! I would truly love to read this book again. Thanks!

    Hi,

That sounds like Charles Stross's Accelerando: see the Wikipedia article.

The article has links to the free ebook version, so you can check for yourself if it's the book you're thinking of.

Implied Spaces by Walter Jon Williams

Aristide, a semi-retired computer scientist turned swordsman, is a scholar of the implied spaces, seeking meaning amid the accidents of architecture in a universe where reality itself has been sculpted and designed by superhuman machine intelligence. While exploring the pre-technological world Midgarth, one of four dozen pocket universes created within a series of vast, orbital matrioshka computer arrays, Aristide uncovers a fiendish plot threatening to set off a nightmare scenario, perhaps even bringing about the ultimate Existential Crisis: the end of civilization itself. Traveling the pocket universes with his wormhole-edged sword Tecmesssa in hand and talking cat Bitsy, avatar of the planet-sized computer Endora, at his side, Aristide must find a way to save the multiverse from subversion, sabotage, and certain destruction.

Hmm thanks for the heads up on this its a very good read. I highly recommend it.
