I'll check it out, might be related to the hack. There was a period where the forum front page was unaccessible, although individual forums could be seen. AFAIK, no permissions have changed. The blogs are broken too. I guess I need to speed up my noew hosting research adn get everything reinstalled.

Present and accounted for, although yesterday I tried to enter and was told I've been blocked. I got here in a round about way. I'm waiting to hear from the admin on what I did wrong. Is it my breath?

Got here fine, so maybe things are fixed now.

I'm not one for controversy, though.

Griot, I suspect that's the same locked front page bug the rest of us are getting.

The first time I tried to visit the site today I got a page saying "you are forbidden to access . ." blah, blah, blah. Worked fine when I tried again, but I've been getting an unusual volume of spam in my email today. It's making me a little twitchy.

I don't think Steve McQueen was who the entertainment media thinks he was to begin with. And Paul Newman was that salad dressing race-car guy, right? I can sort of see what they are trying to say about Craig, he takes roles that, if they'd been made when Steve McQueen was big would have been offered to him, but the movies aren't what they would have been had they been made then, Hollywood has moved on to other paradigms, I think, and what Craig, or any other actor today, makes isn't quite the same.
    There was a hacker attack?

    Hi Mike,

There were repeated hacker attacks that kep this site down for a while. Now it's back up but there are still bugs. Seems like most of us can't call up the front page without getting a message that our privileges may have been rescinded by the webmaster. You can get on the forum though. Is it all part of somebody's plan to disrupt sr.freader? It obviously isn't just happening all by itself. The question is who is behind it and what's the motivation? Or is there a computer robot simply bent on mindless destruction?

Happy to report that the problem with accessing the main front page has been resolved thanks to Webmaster Dave. Hopefully things will return to normal and stay that way. Gremlins be gone!
