Default The Walking Dead Season 2

I thoroughly enjoyed the first season of The Walking Dead and was anticipating the second.

I'll try to keep away from spoilers.....

I thought the first episode of the second season was a strong start, albeit with a few caveats. There might be some giveaways here, so don't reasd it if you haven't watched it yet plan to....

After so many weeks surround by the dead, both the living and non, and Loriis still a bit squeemish about looting? Doesn't seem realistic.

The zombie horde approaching from the rear? Didn't they just drive from that direction?

The zombies in the church just sitting around - are they trying to establish additional parameters for zombie behavior?

In teh first season, it seemed to be pretty firmly established that zombies detected humans by smell, so hiding and being quiet doesn't seem like it would work for me.

Despite these technical quibbles, I enjoyed the premier very much. It's not a show about zombies, after all, it's a show about a group of survivors trying to stay alive in a world overrun by zombies.

I think the characters are VERy well done, and are really coming into their own. I do have a bit of an issue with the "secret" between Lori and Shane as seems a bit contrived and too much our of plto central, but I can overlook that.

I think the cinematography is very fitting - I like the sounds of nature in the background, used very effectively to evoke isolation. The deserted highway worked very well.

I'm looking forward to the second episode.

    Default

I watched the second episode last night. Compared to the first, I thought it dragged. I'm still enjyig the cinematography, but not much really happend in this episode in term of moving the plot further.

It did end on a cliff hanger of sorts that makes me look forward to the next week, and I think there's some vitality to be had with the infusion of some new survivors.

    Default Season 2, Episode 3

I'm not familiar with the graphic novels, so I'm not sure how closely the show cleaves to it's source material.

Episode 2, and now, Episode 3, both felt a bit contrived to me. They're dragging out they missing kid and the jurt kid stuff for too long and it's weighjing down the show.

Nevertheless, it remains one ofmy favorite shows. They are using some ofhte slowness to do a bit of character building and backfill, so that might have some payoff in the end. With season 1 being only 6 episodes, I suppose there's some exposition and development left to do.

I did hear they've already been picked up for a third season, so good for them.

The ending of E3 was great, and gave a whole new dimension to Shane's characters.

    ***SPOILERS****

OK, what would you have done in the same situation? I think this opens up a whole new area to explore, the whol eneeds of the many needs of the few thing. How long would it take for the survivors to begin making some pretty hard, and, to our standards, pretty brutal choices?
