Default Mordecai Slate Gets His First Review

"Samurai Blade," one of my Mordecai Slate stories, featured in the Showdown at Midnight antho from Science Fiction Trails, just got a great review in Blood Moon Rising Magazine. It's the first review I've gotten for one of these stories. It's great encouragement for the Mordecai Slate novel which I am in the middle of writing. The book is called Rio Muerto and will be out next year.

On a totally unrelated note, I'm currently reading Jack Brand and I have to say I'm enjoying the book. I just hope I'mnot left hanging about his sister at the end. I want him to find her. I'm just saying.

No spoilers here, Mike. (Hehehehe, cackle, snort.) Once again thanks very much for buying a copy. I'm delighted to hear you are enjoying it. I'd love to know what you think when you finish it.

Black Petals said Samurai Blade was "morose but satisfying." I'll go with that.

One of the stories that I enjoyed was Samurai Blade by
John M. Whalen. Mordecai Slate is brought in to investigate a
death on the edge of town. As soon as he starts to look into it,
he knows things are what they seem and not everyone is telling
the truth. But what he does know is a samurai blade hanging in a bar is behind it.
This has just the right amount of gore, action and horror with a great ending.

I'm halfway through Jack Brand. Enjoying it, mate.

Yep... I'll let you know for sure. I'll probably finnished the last part while I'm out camping this next week. Seven nights in the wilds will give me plenty of time.
