Thread: Moredecai Slate #6

    Default Moredecai Slate #6

This is definitely the way to end the old year and start the new. More good news. The sixth Mordecai Slate story, "Undead Empire, Gog!" has just been accepted for a Steampunk anthology to be published by Pill Hill Press. That's right. Steampunk. My first try at this sub-genre. Monster Hunter Mordecai takes a trip in a time machine to battle supernatural forces of evil. A 10,000 word novelette. I'm off now to celebrate and bring in 2012 at Blues Alley, the DC jazz club. Monty Alexander on piano is featured tonight.

Thanks, Chris. Monty Alexander was great. One of the best jazz pianists in the country. I met him two years ago at a Hopalong Cassidy Reunion in Ohio, of all places. He was there incognito. He is a huge fan of westerns. I recognized him and told him then I was writing the Jack Brand book and he said if it ever got published he'd like a copy. I gave him one last night. He flipped. After the show we sat and drank and talked jazz and cowboy flicks. What a wild night.

Just saw that Gustavo Bondoni, once a frequenter of this forum, placed a story in this Pill Hill Press anthology. I checked out his blog and he mentions SF READER and that he stopped coming over here because of the lack of activity. But he says he really can't find any other forum to take its place and asked if any one knew any such where writers were hanging out. Gustavo, my Argentinian friend, come back and pay a visit. We're still here. Congrats on the acceptance.
