    Armand --

Almost finished with your interview questions. The birth of my son, Theodore, this past Thursday has thrown my schedule off a bit. I should have everything back to you by mid-week.

    Great questions, btw.

Are these books only available through www.CarnifexPress.net? Not on Amazon by any chance? Im asking cuz I dont know how to use PayPal, and I personally dont have a bank account, if thats what one needs to use PayPal. Im not too sure how it works.

Go to shocklines.com. It's all there. You can place regular credit-card orders there, if that's what you're looking for.

Ron: I haven't seen any reviews of 'Clash 3' yet. Why not take a crack at it yourself? Yours would be a qualified opinion, I should think.

I'm only half way through it, but I can give you a short review.

The stories are firmly in the sword and sorcery regime. If you're looking for the next Zelazny, you probably won't find it here. You may find the next Howard or Wagner.

To compare: Lords of Swords published a collection of adventure stories set in pseudo-historical times. A few stories are firmly sword and sorcery, but there are many that fall outside that niche. Clash 3, on the other hand, is firmly in that niche. Anyone else who wants to get into that niche, better be careful of this monster that lives there!

I found the stories in the anthology to be wonderful. Not that I'm biased or anything. hee hee. I especially enjoyed Steven Shrewsbury's tale, Toxic. It was delivered in true 'shrews' fashion, rip-roaring and action-packed. I read this anthology straight through and wasn't disappointed by any of the stories.

Thanks for all the kind words about the "Clash of Steel: Book Three - Demon" anthology... it is my favorite anthology we've put out so far because of the immense talent inside.

What is even better is the amount of writers that were published in "Clash of Steel: Book Three - Demon" that I will continue to work with at Carnifex Press by putting out new single-author releases:

Steven Shrewsbury, Christopher Stires, Christopher Heath, Angeline Hawkes, Laura J. Underwood, Elaine Isaak... and have worked with Steve Goble in the "Freehold" books as well.

One of the things I love about the continued success of Carnifex Press is to read an author's short story for the first time, love his/her work and then get to work with them again on a bigger project. A dream come true!

I know I really appreciate it, and I'm sure the other authors do as well, Armand. I'm constantly belittled at home for 'wasting' my time writing, and it seems like the only support I get is from the occasional editor. I think I know why Robert E. Howard committed suicide. I did get a fan email from someone on this board the other day, which was really nice and unexpected. Now I'm acing all my serves. Thanks Geritol!

Okay, the last two sentences were silly, but the rest was sincere.

    Chris,

The way I look at it all... as long as I can break even with Carnifex Press and get to read all of these cool Fantasy stories and novellas that I would spend money on anyway for free, I feel like I'm a winner.

That being said, it would be nice to actually get to quit the day job and read Fantasy books all day and publish.

Lol, I knew I was doing something wrong here.

Trust me, breaking even isn't the goal but it's nice to be hitting that point quicker and quicker on each book at this point and getting to read such great work that I enjoy.

I'm with you, Shrews, I'll buy a round for ole Bob Howard anyday. We should all strive to be so prolific and just plain entertaining!

Chris H, I feel your pain. lol. Had the same experiences until I upgraded husbands. Now we're churning out fiction together as well as separately and everything is good. Not that I'm saying you should upgrade your spouse or anything. lol. It is nice to have someone who shares your passion though and REALLY understands.

Armand, my experiences with Carnifex have been fabulous. I'm looking forward to continuing projects with you and the company. On that note, I'll pimp out the new extreme horror novella from myself and Christopher Fulbright, THEN COMES THE CHILD, a terrifying romp full of voodoo and gorey goodness, due out soon from Carnifex Press.
