Thread: My reign of terror begins!

Default My reign of terror begins!

Hello and thanks to everyone who congratulated me on my promotion to managing editor. I have just returned from vacation and am just starting to take over full operations from Howard. Obviously there will be a transition period, but I would encourage anyone who has any questions concerning Flashing Swords to go ahead and email me through the submissions email.

Let me first assure everyone that I have no intention of making any great changes. I think Howard and has done an amazing job setting up Flashing Swords and making it the best place for Sword and Sorcery on the web. He has also done a great job in fostering this community. I know that Howard will continue to assist me with anything and everything I need.

That said, Howard and I have our differences. Although we generally agree on what Sword and Sorcery is - we certainly each have our own preferences. This is something I will discuss at length in my first editorial.

Also, Howard is generally more outgoing than I am. Although I hope to be a frequent contributor to this board, I doubt that I will be able to keep up with Howard?s near limitless energy and enthusiasm.

I apologize to anyone who currently has a story waiting to be read in Flashing Swords. I believe at the moment, I am reading stories from about two month ago. I hope to quickly catch up on this and get the reading time down. With that in mind, it is one of my goals to keep you guys updated on where I stand in my reading. Thus you can expect updates every few weeks at to what turn around time you can expect. This should also help you guys and myself keep track of the submissions and be quicker to locate any that may have gone AWOL.

So, in summation, I just hope that I can do as good a job as Howard has done and continue to bring you guys the best S&S stories we can find.

    Thanks,

    Joseph A. McCullough

    Managing Editor

    Joe,
Good luck with Flashing Swords. Howard certainly left you with a high standard to live up too.
How about telling us, here or in the mag, a little more about you? All I know about you is you write a mean story.
