Thread: Alex Dain's The Bane of Kanthos

Default Alex Dain's The Bane of Kanthos

With the aid of my nephew I was switching books around on my massively overstuffed bookcases and we came across my numerous Ace Doubles, and in particular one containing Alex Dain's The Bane of Kanthos. A Sword and Sorcery adventure. I snatched it up for a hopefully soon read -- and thought I'd see if anyone hear has heard of it.

    I have/had it - can't remember what it's about though.

At the moment I'm both semi-reading Lester Dent's The Phantom City (again) and visiting with relatives, so it'll be a few days, but... Would anyone be interested in my giving The Bane of Kanthos a li'l review when I read it?

Tha would be great, TRtheJ. As the Asst. Managing Ed. for S&S.org, I or someone else can code it up for you.

Sounds wonderful. Now that I can focus on it fully, I should be through with Lester Dent's The Phantom City today. I'll make certain nothing else steps in the way of starting this Sword and Sorcery treasure from the Ace Double days.

Okay. I just finished The Bane of Kanthos and am preparing to begin writing my review, which I suspect will take me a couple of days, considering the hour and other business, andby your desire to "code it up," AndyBow, I must ask: Should I post it hear or send it to you for consideration?

I've run into a little problem. My wheelchair has been sent to the repair shop, so it'll take a bit longer to write my review, which I have a good start on. Sorry for the delay.

No problem, TRtheJ. Whenever you can would be great. Just enjoy yourself writing the review.
Okay. My "it'll be a bit longer" turned into a five week plus nightmare which, I am happy to say, has *fingers crossed* finally come to an end. So if I'm going to write this review, I'll need to reread the book 'cause after so long... This coming weekend looks like the best time, so here I am offering excuses for another long delay. Sorry.
No problem, TRtheJ. Just glad your five weeks of nightmare are over, hopefully. Take your time and enjoy the re-reading and the review writing. Thanks again.

Hi Folks, I'm the author of Bane of Kanthos--it was a LONG time ago. I confess curiosity re opinions. Thinking of rewriting with better craft and expanding it.

Thanks for keeping the old Sword and Sorcery alive.

    Alex
